In 1997, a Seattle Judge became increasingly uneasy about making
decisions in 10 minutes that would effect children for the rest of their lives.
This Judge launched a program to train and appoint community volunteers
to research the cases of children who had been removed from their homes
due to abuse and neglect.

Frontier CASA Inc. began in 1999, as a satellite program of Texas CASA with
funding provided by the Hogg Foundation.

Frontier CASA became independent in July 2001 and is now a private
non-profit corporation, that operates within the guidelines of Texas CASA
and National CASA.

Frontier CASA serves children in Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff
Davis, Pecos, Presidio, and Reeves Counties.

Frontier CASA is funded by Federal, State, and foundation grants, and
community donations.

Frontier CASA is part of a national and state network of volunteers that
serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.
